Are You Asymptomatic?

My younger grandson has tested positive for COVID-19 but has not shown any symptoms of the condition.  The doctor has declared him “asymptomatic” meaning there are no signs of the coronavirus.

Many of us declare that we are Christians but could be declared asymptomatic.  We show no signs of being a Christian.  1st century Christians were defined by the way they loved.  Their lives reflected the sacrificial love of Jesus.  As a result, their love changed much of the Roman Empire.  The 15 symptoms of the love of Jesus are listed in 1 Corinthians 13:

  • Love is patient
  • Love is kind
  • Love does not envy
  • Love does not boast
  • Love is not proud
  • Love does not dishonor others
  • Love is not self-seeking
  • Love is not easily angered
  • Love keeps no record of wrongs
  • Love does not delight in evil
  • Love rejoices with the truth
  • Love always protects
  • Love always trusts
  • Love always hopes
  • Love always perseveres

Above are the symptoms of Christ’s love.  Are you declaring yourself to be a Christian; yet your lifestyle is asymptomatic?  The love of Jesus is contagious.  What are people catching who live around you?
