Where is your hope?

“Where is God in your life?” Now those who don’t believe in God or refuse to accept Him for their hope, all they have to hope on is people, and the dream that they can make their lives better by their vote. But through all of this the voice of the Lord keeps coming to my heart telling me that this is not my home; this is temporary, and He is conditioning me for the hope of something truly better, if we will endure till then.  God’s word says, “We have also obtained access through Him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  And not only that, but we also rejoice in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:2-5  We are not going to make this better by ourselves, at least I believe we cannot, because of the mixed motivations that control the behavior of men. The only one that can continue to save us is the Lord, who gave His life for us, and who made promises that no one has been able to prove wrong.  So when He says to us that He will return for us, and take us to be where He is, we know that this life is temporary, but life with Him is permanent.  I read something that I want to share that was posted this week, and it is short but has truth packed in it: “Earthly death hits us at our core and feels foreign, for one simple reason: we were created to live eternally in a completely different place.”  Let’s make sure that the hope we continue to strive for is hope eternal, and not the temporal promise of the fix of man.
