In Season and Out of Season

I woke up this morning a mess…really tired.  Last week, I was super busy including each of the evenings.  So, honestly, I felt like tanking today.  Yet, a couple of challenging verses came to my mind…

  • This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
  • Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2c.
  • “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).

So, I had the choice of sliding through the day numbed out or get off my rear end and allow God to use me, TODAY!  I needed to understand, today (Jan. 27, 2020) is a day that is special to God and I need to glorify Him by the way that I live.

The verse in Timothy has especially motivated me…”be ready in season and out season.”  Whether I feel like it or not, whether it is convenient for me or not, whether I want to do it or not, whether I am down or up, it is time to rock n’ roll and bless His name.

Ephesians 4:22-24 challenges each of us daily to do three things: to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

So, God, my desire is to be and to do whatever glorifies your name TODAY!
