No More Shame

Today, I believe men especially are walking in shame.  I know in my case I have never felt that I lived up to my Dad’s expectations.  Heck, I don’t feel that I have lived up to my own expectations.  In others’ cases, many of us have done things that we feel are unforgiveable and we live with the shame practically everyday of our lives.  I know with others it is not what we have done, it something that we should have done.  Whatever your case may be, living in shame is paralyzing to your walk with Jesus and living out your life to your full capabilities.  Shame shrink-wraps your life.  One of the primary purposes of the cross of Jesus is to free us up from shame.

Romans 8 has several verses that clearly and absolutely deal with self-condemnation and frees us from shame.  Look at the very first verse, “there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”  How much shame does the Bible to us to carry around every day of our life?  None, nada, zero.  Look later in this chapter in verses 31-34, If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? ³³ Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who then is the one who condemns? No one.

What should we do?  Continuously throw off all shame and live in the light of the forgiveness of Jesus.  Keep your moment-by-moments daily walk free from the paralyzing results of shame.  You are 100%, totally, completely forgiven! 

If you have never met Jesus, the One who alone can truly forgive you of your sin by His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead, simply open up your heart to Him.  Once welcomed, He will come into your heart and will walk with for the rest of your life.  Romans 6:23 states, “²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  All you have to do to enjoy a gift is receive it.  After receiving Him, live in His forgiveness.  There is no more shame.
