As we deal with life in this fallen, defeated world, let’s never, ever forget that we have complete ability to live a life of victory. Jesus proclaimed from the cross, “It is finished.” In other words, Jesus did everything needed to transfer each of us from the dominion of darkness to the Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:13). Romans 8:6 declares, “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” 2 Corinthians 3:17 exclaims, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
Four powerful and purposeful Never, Ever Forgets are listed below. My suggestion is to be intentional about memorizing each of these and meditate on them daily. They will become a moment-by-moment resource for you:
- 1 John 4:4 “The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” No matter what, our God is greater!
- 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 Even though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Our God has given us the weapons to demolish every stronghold and to take any argument or thought captive to obedience to Christ!
- Colossians 2:13-15When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. At the cross Jesus made a public spectacle of the devil and his dominion triumphing over them by the cross. In other words, Jesus kicked the devil’s backside royally!
- Ephesians 6:10-12 Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Our struggle is not flesh and blood, but against spiritual authorities. This struggle cannot be won in the realm of the flesh but must be fought in the realm of the Spirit. Once this is realized, victory and growth will follow.
Jesus has done and given us everything needed to live victoriously daily. Never Ever Forget that! Be intentional daily to live in His Spirit.
