Easter Worshippers

I’m sure by now you all have seen the news regarding the bombings and attacks in Sri Lanka. I am appalled at the response from many of the world leaders, in particular the ones here at home in the good old USA.

I have never been really political in nature, but the path that our country is on is disturbing to say the least. I have found that I have a Republican, conservative viewpoint, largely because the Republican party has mostly continued to embrace Judeo-Christian principals. Now, that doesn’t I agree with everything they do, but their slant is still mostly Christian.

Democrats, on the other hand, have shown that they are quickly distancing themselves from biblical principals. Principals on which this great country of ours were founded on. We’ve taken prayer out of our schools, can’t decide on what a man or woman is anymore, and not just abortions, but now late-term abortions. And so much more.

Now, two prominent Americans can’t even use the word Christian. They can’t condemn the attacks by naming the radical factions that perpetrated them. Barack Obama tweeted. “The attacks on tourists and Easter worshippers in Sri Lanka are an attack on humanity. On a day devoted to love, redemption, and renewal, we pray for the victims and stand with the people of Sri Lanka.

Hillary Clinton said,”On this holy weekend for many faiths, we must stand united against hatred and violence. I’m praying for everyone affected by today’s horrific attacks on Easter worshippers and travelers in Sri Lanka.”

Interesting that they both used the same phrase. What is an Easter Worshiper? How many other religions worship and celebrate Easter?

The problem, brothers, is that just as Christ said 2000 years ago, we continue to be persecuted. Matthew 5:44 – “But I saw unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

In fact, everyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3:12

We must take a stand. As we continue to share our belief with friends, family, and acquaintances we must be strong in our faith. We must use our voices through the democratic process and elect leaders who share and will put biblical principals back into our government. This country protects free speech and religion. Then why are Christians targeted more and more in hate crimes and demonized by the media? Why is the democratic party seemingly more and more bent on passing legislation that is so far from Godly values?

Make no mistake, we are under attack. We need to work harder to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

I am a Christian. You can ridicule me. You can torture me. You can kill me.

But, you can’t change my mind.
