22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22
The past weekend our family changed some things up. We changed our normal routines and spent some time at new places.
As this morning’s verse came to my read, I got stuck on this “His mercies never come to an end, they are NEW every morning.”
Last week I wrote about this same newness in the Lord, that each day the refreshing “new” is our strength, and that we are to thrive in this newness…
Today, amidst some change for our own family, I am focusing on this, that “His steadfast love NEVER ceases”.
Think if you can of exchanging the word “new” with the word “change”. That is, in the “newness” of the Lord, there are “changes” every morning. So of us will avoid CHANGE like the black plague! Is this you? There is something to be said of routine, structure, and consistency, but when it comes to God making ALL THINGS NEW…. Change is in there.
Change can be seen as traumatic, scary, and even feared, but I’ll encourage you this morning to view change as “new”. View the change in your life and the CHANGE in our hearts as a positive when it is based upon the Lord doing a good work in your heart.
These good works done are in fact “unending” thus creating my post title this morning… “unending change” ….. The man or woman that is placing their faith in Jesus Christ is in agreement with the Lord’s plan of newness everyday. We are saying “yes” to God taking us from the yesterdays into the today and on to tomorrow’s.
I feel this newness in the Lord or “unending change” is biblical…
Adam experienced it, Abraham as well, Noah, Isaac, Joseph, David, Solomon, the prophets, the disciples, even JESUS. They were all participants in MAJOR changes of their lives through God’s work. Many of them, just like us, held back from embracing the changes at first, but over time, realized the changes were for the Kingdom and thus grew them to be more dependent on God and more trusting to the Lord’s plans for their lives.
Are we no different? Have you resisted in some changes the Spirit may be placing in your life?
Have you embraced the newness of Christ and what that may mean for you?
Get used to this bro, God’s new life for you will be filled with unending change and the quicker we embrace it the STRONGER IN HIM we grow!!
