Demi Lovato sings the tune of “a comeback”, for what i assume was an old boyfriend. Although I don’t listen to her tunes often, I listened to this one to understand exactly what she was “sorry not sorry” for.
It didn’t take long to figure it out, she was “not sorry” for the relationship break up, in fact her music video depicts the “revenge” by meeting other lovers, a pool party, and general provocativeness….. as if to say to her ex lovers… “you’re missing out now, check me out and how “the grass is greener underneath her.”
As I woke this morning, I felt the loss of NOT Posting yesterday on Barnabas Man. I was thinking throughout the day on my topic and by the evening, I simply gave up to the post. I was sorry….
As I thought through another message to encourage the PREVIOUS POST on the VOTING POLL we created.. i was “sorry not sorry”. I was sorry i missed the post but not sorry thinking of how far this really has come. As I referenced the famous quotation to the pop music hit, I figured I’d give Demi Lovato her chance to explain the lyrics as I listened. I was thinking there was something there.
What did i find in my research? Demi is right, she is sorry not sorry and prideful me is the same way with God! How often in our walks do we stop our progress and throw our hands up and just give in to the FLESH? the temptation? the lie?
The fact is, as sinful fallen believers, we ARE still failing. We are sorry and we do have issues with pride sneaking back in and we use this as an excuse towards God when we think something should’ve gone our way or could’ve been better for us?
Is it just me?
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.

Look, I’m not suggesting we give in to Demi Lovato’s idea of throwing our attitude around or even getting even, I’m just thinking there is a large portion of MY HEART that stills needs to get clean. It becomes more evident on some days more than others. Staying connected to TRUTH, other brothers, THE WORD, this brings the cleansing. It never comes by lashing out. I pray this can be YOUR GOOD WORD today, give up the bad portions of your heart as I give up mine and let’s gain some growth in our faith today.
