As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.
The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom‘s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.
You can see I am focused on our Marriage to Christ this morning. The most important wedding of all time comes at our death when we are told Christ loves His church as a bride. He loves us as His bride. This LOVE is present now however WILL BE ULTIMATELY FULFILLED when we meet Him in person upon our deaths.
Yesterday, my own bride, Heather, enjoyed the benefits of MONTHS of planning for our Daughter, Taylor’s Bridal Shower. I’ve attached a quick shot of Heather’s post on Facebook this morning explaining her joy throughout the planning and the event.
Now hear this friends, This post is the description of the mother’s heart… (to be compared to our Father in Heaven’s Heart). You see the smile on Taylor, We hear the true and earnest love from Heather… but remember… this is JUST THE BRIDAL SHOWER!!!
What MORE JOY and LOVE and EXCITEMENT is to come in the ACTUAL WEDDING to Casey!!!
Do you see where I am going with this? Our time hear on earth is like the BRIDAL SHOWER… Christ and God and the Spirit are LAVISHING US with excitement and gifts and preparation for the MARRIAGE to come… the FULL MARRIAGE… right now… right here… in this broken up, busted world of sin and danger and challenge, we are amidst the MOOD of the bridal shower!
Is there JOY? of course! is there the presence of those that love us? absolutely! Yet, Taylor pictured here with her smile was NOT WITH HER GROOM yet! Casey was out with Sam and I, away from the home….
Can you see this in your faith in God? Can you sense His presence and feel His love despite His location?
Our lives on earth are in constant “bridal shower” mode !!
What a grand celebration it will be when Christ is exposed in FULLNESS to us!
Whether it is when we reach the grave or He returns first – either way we will be completed in our marriage to our LORD!!!
