“Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the doorwill be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7 HCSB
I came across this gem today and then it was backed up from a friend’s post… “As for the future, your task is not to forsee it, but to enable it.” Antoine De Saint Exupery.
Now I admit, I have limited knowledge of Mr. Antoine, but according to his Saint filled title, he must have had some good stuff going. Saint-Exupéry was a successful commercial pilot before World War II, working airmail routes in Europe, Africa and South America. At the outbreak of war, he joined the French Air Force (Armée de l’Air), flying reconnaissance missions until France’s armistice with Germany in 1940. After being demobilised from the French Air Force, he travelled to the United States to help persuade its government to enter the war against Nazi Germany. Following a 27-month hiatus in North America, during which he wrote three of his most important works, he joined the Free French Air Force in North Africa, although he was far past the maximum age for such pilots and in declining health. He disappeared over the Mediterranean on a reconnaissance mission in July 1944, and is believed to have died at that time. (From Wikipedia)
Did you catch that? He traveled to America to help persuade others to FIGHT the Nazi’s?
Back to the verse, “keep asking and it will be given to you. Keep Searching and you will find it, keep knocking and the door will be opened for you.”
God has a way of invitation to Him. The Holy Spirit has this special “way” of introducing us to opportunities and invitations but the end result of these blessings ALWAYS includes a step of our own… A Step of “pushing the door open”.. Ha! What a drag right? Couldn’t the Lord just continue removing obstacles left and right and breaking down the barriers on every front we face? Of course He can, however, this would prove for little growth for us would it not? There is no growth and maturity without challenge! There is no invitation that receives it’s blessed guest without WALKING through the door !!
Is this too far fetched for your battles today? Would Hitler have kept going it historians such as Bonhoeffer and Antoine de Saint Exupery did not participate in his downfall? We MUST TAKE the invitations from God seriously and pursue these doors He opens! We must place our hands on the door handle and turn the knob and push the dang thing open! Then walk through!!!
Over and over and over we read in the scriptures of the leading of the Spirit, or Christ, or the Lord to an unwillingly man or woman and over and over and over it is the ACTION of that man or woman to brings the Lord’s plans to fruition! Are we no different?
Many things to gain from this ACTION today:
- What are you asking for?
- Have you touched, turned, or pushed the open door?
- Do you need to get moving through that opportunity or opening?
- Where is the next door or challenge for you today?
Blessing to you all brothers, Peace in the King!
