Dynamite

Being a guy who has struggled with depression a large majority of my life, memorizing and meditating on scripture has been a huge source of growth for me. Depression creates a rock-solid neuro network in your mind much like an airport runway. It becomes deeply and ruggedly etched into our minds. The biggest problem in my life has been a gigantic root of fear caused by me believing one lie after another lie. I can remember in my very first memories being fearful. Neil Anderson states often in his writings that the devil is not worried about power, but he is terrified of the truth especially The Truth. So, my journey to freedom has been walking and standing in and meditating on the truths of God’s Word…the Word that penetrates with light and life to the very depths of our minds. Hebrews declares in the fourth chapter verse 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Let’s go back and analyze this verse. First, it translates that “the Word of God is living and active..” We get the words “energy” and “dynamite” from the Greek words used in the original New Testament text. So, God’s Word is full of life and power. The Word has the ability to dynamite various strongholds that the devil and his lies have built up in our minds. Then, the verse states that the Word is like a scalpel that God uses to operate even down to the division of “soul (mind, emotion and will) and spirit.” The Word impacts our entire being. Next, it declares that the Word is “able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” He will shine his light and truth down into dark minds and pricks our wills to act in obedience.
Hey, join in with me and let’s allow the Lord’s word to dynamite strongholds and energize our being to be bearers of the truth. Let me leave several verses for you to meditate on.
John 8 31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word (abiding, meditating on), then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Psalm 119 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.
Time to dynamite some strongholds.
