His seed abides… Break the chains

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; jsin is lawlessness. You know that khe appeared in order to ltake away sins, and min him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; nno one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, olet no one deceive you .pWhoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. qWhoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was rto destroy the works of the devil. sNo one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s2 seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 10 By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, tnor is the one who udoes not love his brother.

1 John 3:4-10

Such a simple word to read but how impactful? No one born of God makes a practice of sinning. So where do you abide? Is there a consistent sin that has plagued you that you refuse to let go of? Then the question remains…   Does God’s seed abide in you?

By this it is evident who are the children of God and who are the children of the devil.

This may not be easy to hear but it is written, whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

This is our self evaluation day. Are we abiding in God’s Kingdom or are we walking on the line of danger and not loving our neighbors or repeating sin?

It may be a different sin for each one of us but if there is ONE sin that continues, then the truth remains. We are still lost and have not found the answer in Him. God is jealous for you and has no room in His presence for evil and wrong. Yes forgiveness and grace is there for you but also that we DO NOT GRIEVE the Holy Spirit. Another way to say that is do we continue the same sin pattern over and over and over?

Father God, initiate the change we need today to break us free of the sin pattern that has us trapped. Open our eyes enough to rid us of the selfish desires that push us away from grace. Break the chains of sin that bind us in darkness and encamp around our hearts and minds and cause us to ACT on your love, through your Spirit. Take this new day and start over with our attitudes and position in your Kingdom that we MAY PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS.
