Glory to Glory

Since we have such a hope, jwe are very bold, 13 not like Moses, kwho would put a veilover his face so that the Israelites might not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end. 14 But ltheir minds were mhardened. For to this day, nwhen they readthe old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only                               through Christ is it  taken away. 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when pone3 turns to the Lord, qthe veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord4 is the Spirit, and   whererthe Spirit of the Lord is, there is sfreedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face,     tbeholdinguthe glory of the Lord,5 vare being transformed into the same image wfrom  one degree of glory to another.6 For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:12-18

As believers, this may be one of the hardest truths to hold on to. The truth that we are in GOOD standing with God, standing in His presence with an “unveiled” face being transformed. Yes, transformation can be painful, even discouraging at times if our perspective is clouded with our earthly eyes. But transformation from glory to glory, that is what we are to be looking for. Not transformation from sin to other sin, but transformation from one state of beloved children to the next state of more blessing and righteousness. Is that hard to imagine? Is it difficult for you to see your life as a reflection of the Holy King?

Has your mind been hardened?

Here is Corinthians we read the struggle of the man in God’s Hands. Hear this today, where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom brother. Freedom to walk out of the house today with your eyes fixed on Jesus. Freedom to repent of the wrongs we have done and freedom to stand upright and unashamed in the presence of the King. All of us, free to be His image, His voice, and His mission keepers, walking in the light of salvation.

Do we always feel that good? No. Do we always conquer the self-induced negative talk that mingles in our minds? No.

But in Christ there are answers. In His Word there are victories and in His Kingdom there is grace and newness. EVERYTHING NEW. EVERY DAY NEW. EVERY THOUGHT NEW. It takes effort on our parts to center our thoughts and eyes on His promise. His promise is that you and I, together stand in His Kingdom without the need of the veil. It is our call to look beyond the  old self and embrace the NEW self. Deny the old. Deny the negative. Deny the enemy the next opportunity to convince us of something different. Make the TURN, Make it every moment, allow the Spirit of God, with the MIND of Christ, and His dwelling within you to TURN to Him.

Father, this morning let us not be overcome by our flaws and imperfections. Let us be driven by glory. From one degree of glory to the next, Lord, we long for your continued image enhancements within us. We know we have a hard time grasping this and even fear sometimes we will be assumed TOO righteous. We know that is ridiculous to you God. We know that is nonsense to think holiness is impossible. We know you have labeled us pure and we want to live in that purity today Lord. Until the day we are made full in your perfect eternity Lord, keep us longing for glory to glory to glory to glory. Amen.
