19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
I started out the day thinking upon servant-hood and what one may display. How many desire the servant’s heart, and yet, are we in the correct framing of mind? As a Christian, we exemplify ourselves a little Christ’s fulfilling that roll, for His purpose. Lets start with our faith and then our walk in preparation for serving others.
We do believe there is one God, and the devils do tremble for the time of judgment comes. They tremble, so why do we not as well? Now they acknowledge Christ and the one who shall return, but do we? Are our sins paid for? Believe can mean several things, therefore have we evaluated the depth of that for ourselves? One may say of certainty they believe there is a God and Jesus lived, and they perform many good deeds and church regularly, but is that doing anything further than acknowledgement backed with trinkets of works? Have you trusted in? That makes all the eternal difference? Romans 10:9-10 ” If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved” . Jesus alone has saved me, nothing of myself lest I may boast and steal His glory. This alone is what one must trust in, or “believe”.
Now if we’ve attained unto this perfect belief and faith in Jesus, we have works to perform, a job to do. We may have had dirty hands, but, through the cleansing power of the blood of the lamb, the dirt which once stained and shamed us can be used for planting new life to His praise!
9:62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” It’s time to get plowing, we move ahead in service. Let not the world tempt you or cause you to mirror it. We can’t look in the mirror seeing our reflection, and walk away forgetting what newness of life we have obtained or the manner of our character. No more returning to sin, as a dog returns to his vomit to lap it up. If we desire to be effective servants we have got to walk the walk. Does your walk talk louder than your talk talks?
Recognize your position as a child of God, and be a blessing. Share your faith in word and deed. If someone hungers or thirsts offer, in the name of the Lord. If one has a troubled spirit, show them The Spirit. Don’t offer a simple “hope things get better” for those suffering, but, offer prayer, an assistance, wise counsel, a hug. Have you invited someone to church and, would you offer a meal so they may be fed spiritually and physically? Your faith is not dead or cold, so let the warmth and brightness of that light shine!
Heavenly Father, we’ve all come to situations of frustration or decision. We’ve stumbled, misinterpreted, been stubborn, or just lazy. We ask forgiveness and a renewed mind and right Spirit. Help us to fully trust in you in all circumstance. Help us to always have the mind of Christ, the humbled servant, always seeking the lost. Help us to live victoriously as well, because we are children of the King and will cast all crowns to you. We love you and ask all this in your precious name, Amen.
John 10:29 “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.“
My friends once putting your trust in the Lord, your forever kept in His hand. Get back up today and be a light and a blessing. You are loved!
