“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV
I love the cover of Keith Green’s album which was released in 1978! A lot has changed in the almost 40 years since that album debuted! With technology, and all of the “tolerance” ( for everything BUT Christianity), name it claim it and prosperity gospels preached in many mega churches it is getting harder and harder to not compromise! BUT … that is exactly what we should do!
Psalm 115:1 says, ““Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”
There has never been a more important time to turn our faces to the wind or sea of opposition and stand firm on the Word of God and his promises! What are His promises if we do? Isaiah 45:2-3 tells us, ““I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”
To me it is still unfathomable that the God of ALL even knows who I am much less calls me by name!
So, what are we to do with all of this favor from God? Col. 3-12 instructs us: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” There it is again, “God’s chosen!”
So, gentlemen, let us go out and be strong, unmovable and unwavering as we treat others with love and compassion! Letbus go be Jesus with skin on!
