Wrestling Yourself

Wrestling Yourself

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Many of us have a battle against ourselves daily, to be good stewards of what we are in possession of. What will we do about it, stand up and beat ourselves into submission, or fall victim? It’s a battle of the mind, body, and Spirit. and He, Jesus, who bought and paid for us is able to lead us to victory!

Matthew 6:22-23

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,[a] your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy,[b] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

It starts in the eyes, oh the eyes have it. Watch your steps, look forward. Take in those things that are of profit. If there is no profit to you why should you take it in to your self-destruction? Keep your thoughts on  things that are pure and righteous. Take into your body those things that are good for your body! You are fueling your system for proper operation and fighting off illness. We can have a sick body or a sick mind, make sure to see the great physician for a prescription!

Keep in the word for proper training! We have to train our bodies, give them exercise, How much more the mind? 1 Timothy 4:8 “For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

Finally, 1 Corinthians 9:24 “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.”

Father, help us to run the race in our daily lives as pleasing you. No longer seeking those things that are of harm to us, but, profit. Help us to be the people we ought to that we may lead others to you, being good stewards of what you have placed in our hands. Thank You Lord and we ask all this in your precious name, Amen.
